Very interesting read...thanks for linking it. It's actually quite handy, as I'm writing a research paper about box office trends in recent years and it will be an excellent source.

THAT'LL keep 'em from making another "Big Momma's House".
...I hope.

That article was one big DUH.
How much are these movie producers making again?

I enjoyed it immensely. Thanks. It's nice to see that producers are starting to realize what they need to do to keep us happy. However, as a teenage boy I saw most of the movies she mentioned as being successful for baby boomers and thought they were fantastic. Weird.

Pure and simple, we need more revenge films films for adults and less CGI, horrible acting, Akiva Goldsman and big budgets.

In other words, more Audrey Tautou, less Clea DuVall.

I'm looking forward to Russian Dolls (with Audrey Tautou) later this summer!

I second that statement.

Master RJ says:
Actually, Clea DuVall's not that bad, she just needs more good parts like "Thirteen Conversations About One Thing" and less bad parts like "The Faculty" (I hated that movie) and "The Grudge".

Hey now, don't knock Akiva. Despite the crap he's given us in the past (Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, Lost in Space, I,Robot...), he did give us A Beautiful Mind and Cinderella Man. Then again, it's obvious that he's powerless without Ron Howard.

Master RJ says:
A Beautiful Mind was seeminging Akiva's only good script. In the rest, he obviously does not know what a supporting character is or when to end a scene (Cough, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, a film co-written by him and his protege, Simon Frickin' Kinberg, along with fifty others. Both of them shall be caught for crimes against humanity.)
