I just sent my taxes off

Written by Dan

The post office was CRAZY today! It looked like it was Christmas-time or something... except for the following differences:

1. It's April
2. It's warm outside
3. People were wearing "summer clothes"
4. One guy was bleeding
5. No one had presents
6. Everyone looked pissed off
7. There were no holiday decorations
8. I didn't have a beard

In fact, now that I think about it, it didn't look or feel much like Christmas at all! I guess the act of emptying out our entire savings to pay for our taxes kind of reminded me of the holidays. Merry Christmas!

Damn taxes.

Everyone I know who recently married owes a ton of money this year. Myself included. Yes, taxes suck!

Count me among the recently married who didn't owe! Woo, I am poor! I mean, we are poor! Unfortunately, all of our refund is going to pay back taxes from before I was married and less poor.

I always just overpay (on purpose) during the year, then file as early as possible. I got my return back in February. I also iron my jeans.

I also filed my stuff back in February, and because I'm well below the Poverty line, I got a refund with which to pay for band shirts, which I can sell when I need food...
And I need food often.
